Alex von Z | Human evolution to sustainable world through music

Alex von Z, a musician trying to change the world through his music. Hoping for a more compassionate and sustainable world. We got him to answer a couple of questions.

Where did it all start for you? Has it always been a dream to work in the music business? 

When I was about 13 years old I watched MTV for first time (when they actually played music videos) and got hooked on Rock music.  I would sleep with the television on and it would seep into my subconscious.

Do you still remember the very first record (LP, EP, Single, Tape, etc … ) you ever bought? 

I know it was a tape, but don’t recall the first.  I got a lot of music passed down from my older sister as well.

Are there any musicians that inspired you to get into the music business? 

I don’t like the term “music business”.  Every musician I have ever listened to motivated me to make, release and perform music.

How did your parents react, the first time you said, you wanted to be a musician? 

My parents were always supportive of anything I said I wanted to do.  Music was not any different.  I am constantly thankful I had supportive parents who always said I should “do and be whatever makes me happy and fulfilled”.

If you would describe life in one word, what would it be? 

Evolving

If you were a bee, who would you sting? 

I wouldn’t sting anyone.  First off, if I was a Honey Bee, stinging would result in my own death.  Second, I really don’t have any dislike for anyone.  But if I could control non-honey bees, I would have them sting people whenever they ate animal products.  It’s an antiquated idea that we need to eat animals to survive and our production to satisfy the world’s current demand for animal product is killing our planet.

What was the most uncomfortable question you’ve been asked so far, by a stranger?

Want to have sex with my daughter / wife (have been asked both – awkward!)

What is your ambition in music, what would you like to accomplish? 

I would like for the music to be a supportive and consciousness raising element of the human evolution towards a more compassionate and sustainable world.

Do you still remember the most embarrassing moment on stage, so far?

Yes; honestly many.  From technical issues, to singer’s rants, drunk drummers, competitive bands…

Being asked to leave the stage probably takes the cake. 

What is the one thing, you can’t live without? 

Connection.  While I enjoy being alone, we are social beings that require being part of a community bigger than ourselves.

There are of course, a lot of music venues, festivals, exclusive events around the world, which one would be your ultimate dream?

Rock in Rio or Glastonbury, but I am happy performing anywhere for engaged fans.

Travel the world

Perform with one of my major influences

Witness the end of animal agriculture

13. What can we expect in 2015? 

From me: more music, videos, and other content including the physical release of the Implicate Order CD. 

From the world: a continued shift in the change of human consciousness towards one of unity.
